NOVEMBER 2024

  H A P P E N I N G S :

+  jared + i voted in the election. 🇺🇸❤️

+  i captured a day in my postpartum life with the #onedayHH challenge.

+  june turned a month old + i am one month postpartum! 💜

+  from meals to texts to prayer to gifts, we felt so much love from our people.

+  i had my first outing --  coffee + shopping. it was the best day!

+  we lost power one night. it turned out to be a fun night in the dark with the boys + june. we sat in the living room + talked + hung out together.

+ june + i hung out at home on thanksgiving. the boys brought me a plate of goodies. it was a different way to celebrate the day, but june was still too young.

   O B S E R V A T I O N S

-   acknowledging fears out loud releases their hold. i had some anxieties creeping in this week in regards to june + i told jared about my irrational fears. once i said it all out loud, it didn’t seem as scary. voicing those things out loud along with prayer has been so good for postpartum + healing this time around.

-  time is a thief + time is a gift.

-  you know you’re a breastfeeding mom when the power goes out + your first thought is all the frozen breastmilk. 😂

-  police procedurals are my favorite. it’s my kryptonite.

-  gingerbread  >  peppermint

-  the best baby item so far has been double-zipped onesies with the mitten cuffs. great for diaper changes + covering their hands because you’re too afraid to cut the baby’s fingernails. 😂

- breastfeeding is hard. i had a few moments where i wanted to quit, but i’m SO glad i pushed through. i’m not sure what it will look like once i go back to work, but i have a small freezer stash + i will just take it one day at a time.
