if we were on a coffee date, we would meet at one of my favorite coffee shops in wichita - ecclesia - and i'd order a vanilla latte with an extra shot and suggest an iced caramel latte or a chai if you're not a coffee drinker. (i'll ignore that crazy fact though because their chai's are the best i've ever had + the only thing i could drink when i had an ulcer last month.) i know it's crazy to order a hot drink when the weather is so hot + humid, but by the time i get my drink, i'll start feeling the chill of the ac. story of my life, all year round.

if we were on a coffee date, i'd ask you about life - letting the pleasantries of "good" and "busy but great" get out of the way before i looked you in the eye and asked how you are really doing. i don't want to be all up in your business or try to fix you - it's more of an accountability thing. because i want my friends to do the same for me.

if we were on a coffee date, i would probably instagram my coffee right about now.

if we were on a coffee date, i'd tell you that i recently discovered how amazing avocados are. i eat them on everything - salads, burritos, tacos, sandwiches - you name it.

if we were on a coffee date, i would ask you about your word of the year. i'd tell you that for me, this is the year to worship wildly. to live a life that if so full of worship to my Creator, to make worship a lifestyle, to shake off the years of legalism and worship wildly in every area of my life.

if we were on a coffee date, i would have to mention my husband. the life we've created in the last year has been an answered prayer. he has made me a better woman. i choose to love him each day, as he does me.

if we were on a coffee date, i'd mention that i turn thirty next month. what the what?! i don't know what to think about it. i always thought thirty was SO. FAR. AWAY. and now, there are less than two months left of my twenties. what. the. what.

if we were on a coffee date, i'd ask you about your time in the Word lately. mostly to confess that i haven't spent the time needed to get my fill of daily Bread.

jared and i took a trip to the mountains for a few days over fourth of july weekend. lots of good coffee, laughs, and sore legs. there was a moment where i was standing on a cliff, looking out at our Creator's artwork - and i looked over at my husband. tears welled up in my eyes. he is everything i prayed for and more. he still gives me butterflies and makes me laugh until i cry. he's my best friend, my lover, my everything.
