2026: SEPT 27 - OCT 4

MONDAY:

monday be monday-ing.

the work day was not too bad.

tell me why i sent out the invite for june's second birthday party when she is still JUST A BABY?! 😭

i got a weird text from someone after dinner + it just made the rest of the evening kinda sour. we tried to make the best of it, but sometimes you just need to go to bed + let it go.

TUESDAY:

a fairly lowkey work day + evening at home. my SIL + BIL came over for a bit to hang out and talk. my BIL got our fireplace working, so that is an exciting thing to look forward to this winter!

i had some difficult moments today, regarding church + all we have went through the last eight months. i still have a lot of anger + have to choose forgiveness daily. some things feel so unfair, but i just keep trusting in the Lord.

WEDNESDAY:

i have officially lost 13 pounds! that was a great way to start my day.

it was an easy breezy work day from home.

i posted my september recap on the blog. i also finished hayden panettiere's memoir. it was very sad to read the last chapter about her brother, knowing that same manner of death would also be her own this summer. πŸ₯Ί

grocery shopping was on the agenda  after i clocked out of work. we went to costco for a few things, ate dinner at sonic + stopped by trader joe's for their homestyle chicken salad + their new fall mini tote. we finished our grocery shopping at aldi. by the time we got home, it was basically time for bed.

as soon as i hopped in bed, i checked to see where my step count was. i made a little goal for myself to try to place in the top 10 of a competition on our work wellness app. i was 800 steps away from being #10, so i got out of bed + got in more steps to get back to the #10 spot!

spoiler alert: i woke up the next morning to see i finished #11. πŸ˜‚
it's okay. i am proud of myself for sticking to this active lifestyle change jared + i have made!

THURSDAY:

the first of the month means a busy work day! october greeted us with a dreary, rainy day, which i LOVED. i was freezing all day, because the A/C at work is still set for those 100ΒΊ days, but i still enjoyed watching the rain from my cubicle.

i spent the evening folding laundry that had been sitting in the basket for too long. i noticed my throat was a little scratchy, but figured it was because of the weather change.

jared + i had a really good conversation about all our church hurt + friendships + what the future looks like for us as a family. just because we were deeply wounded by people in the church doesn't mean we have turned our backs on The Church. this season of our life has often felt isolating + unfair, but we have never once felt neglected by the Lord. He has been near to our broken hearts, and we know He has good plans for us.

FRIDAY:

yeeeeeah, that sore throat was not from the weather; i woke up with congestion and a sore throat. i progressively felt worse throughout the day. i couldn't even take my normal lunch break walk, instead opting for resting in bed.

thankfully it was a WFH day. i took meds + felt okay the rest of the evening. jared was working on a yard project, so june + i hung out in the basement.

SATURDAY:

i didn't even clock 2k steps for the day. after a restless night of sleep thanks to mucinex, i woke up around 8.(sidenote: it was 52ΒΊ this morning!!) jared needed to finish his yard project (he has become that dad who is obsessed with his lawn πŸ˜‚), so june + i hung out downstairs. i sipped my coffee + browsed social media + read on my kindle for most of the morning.

as i enjoyed buffalo chicken dip + ranch crackers for lunch, i had the pleasure of watching june eat yogurt with a spoon for about 15 minutes. she was covered in it, but she is getting better with using a spoon.

she went down for her nap + i finished reading exit party, which i gave a solid 4 stars. i rested in bed with football on the tv.

jersey mike's was my choice for dinner, since i was sick. jared took the kids to his parents' house so he could go fishing with his dad + i spent the evening on the couch, watching even more football, journaling, writing, + sipping coffee.

SUNDAY:

no church for us, since i still woke up not feeling well.

we hung out + sipped coffee for awhile. my meds kicked in, so i started the crockpot meal that was planned for dinner— mexican street corn soup.

the afternoon was spent watching football + reading a book on my kindle.

dinner was good! i always get a little nervous with a new recipe be because what if it’s bad??? πŸ˜‚

we watched the chiefs game + drank coffee + had a chill evening (well— after the chiefs game, it was chill. the game was anything but that!)
