this week felt 84 years long.
it wasn't a bad thing! each day just seemed to be weird/full/crazy/hot or all of the above.
i took the day off on monday so we could go to the state fair. it was very fun + very hot + i will be dreaming of fried cookie dough until next year's state fair. we ventured out to the mall to get in some exercise (yes, we are 75 years old ) and it stormed the whole time we were there. i woke up wednesday morning + brushed my teeth, only to discover 10 minutes later that wichita was put under a water boil advisory. wonderful!
i'm happy to report i didn't turn into a zombie or grow horns or anything nefarious from brushing my teeth with possibly contaminated water. because of the advisory, i was able to work from home on thursday. i then had my normal WFH day on friday, so it turned out to be a long work week at home.
we had a birthday party on saturday, where my neighbor made the most delightful chocolate chip cookie dough cake that i am still dreaming about. we went to church on sunday, and the message was so timely about community + i hated it, LOL. (meaning-- i needed to hear it 9 months post leaving our church home.)
it was a good week. i have been working through a lot of the church hurt + residual feelings from leaving back in january. it has not been a quick process + just when i think i'm better, i take two steps back. i am not disheartened by this refining process. the Lord is still working in our lives, even with our broken hearts.
OTHER RANDOMS--
- do not sleep on Dollar Tree hair accessories. they are killing it right now.
- i bought a new transformers blanket + it brings me so much joy!
- volume 9 of emma m. lion is set to release in february!!!
- why do i alwayyyyyyys leave my to-go box of food on the restaurant table?!
- i was the first in line on the libby app for the new emily st. john mandel book, so that is my current read. i also bought laura wifler's new poetry book this week.
