THE CLOSER
i started watching the closer on netflix at the beginning of summer. i needed a tv show to watch as i fell asleep, but it quickly turned into a show i loved. i finished the final season over the weekend and listen-- it's a crime procedural, but it was such a well-produced show! the supporting cast is one of the best i've seen in a show like that, and let me tell you-- at the end of the 19th episode of the last season, I BAWLED LIKE A BABY. i was not expecting a certain character to die and it made me so sad!
when i think back on this summer, i will definitely have some nostalgia for the closer.
THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER
i am not trying to wish away summer, but when temps start to feel like it's over 110º, i start dreaming of autumn days. some things i am doing to beat the heat:
- use the air fryer instead of the oven
- look for autumn inspo on pinterest
- walking the mall*
- say "oh my gosh it's so hottttt" 293 times
- hang out in the cold basement
THE MALL
jared + i have been walking the mall in the evenings. (yes, we are 75 years old.) with it being so hot outside, we sometimes just want to walk together and the mall is the perfect place to do that! we do 4 laps around the whole place. it is veryyyy tempting to want to shop, but i resist.
there was the cutest sweater in a store that we kept walking by. i even pointed it out to jared. the next day, my work had a clothing swap where you could bring in business casual clothes and everyone can pick out what they want. i found that same sweater, in a different color! i was so excited.
RANDOMS
- nothing like looking down right as you're about to take a drink of your coffee, only to discover your toddler dropped two goldfish crackers in the mug.
- my mom bought me this cup as an early birthday present + it is just SO PRETTY.
- i am still loving my brunette hair!
- i am currently reading vol. 7 of the emma m. lion series.
