i feel like i have lived three lifetimes this week.
our hearts are broken,
but we are clinging to Jesus
and His plan for our family.

on a lighter note, i was summoned for jury duty selection this week. to my utter surprise, i was selected! it was such a unique + interesting experience. i firmly believe that everyone should serve on a jury at some point in their life. granted-- the case was not horrific or a murder or anything that would be traumatic.
i had this perception that judges were mean, old, + grumpy. the judge on this case was the kindest, sweetest man. i literally want to be his friend. 😂
the most surprising thing about this entire experience was the court reporter. i thought they still recorded the trial with their funky little keyboard, but NO. they speak into this device and you can't hear what she's saying. i was so shocked by it that i may have stared at her for the first hour i was in the courtroom.

i shared a recap of january + my inaugural 2026 post.

this week's scripture:
rejoice in hope
be patient in affliction
be persistent in prayer
