best books of 2024

i have mentioned this several times recently, but this was not the year of reading for me.

and that’s okay! my goal was to read 30 books, but i finished the year with 14.

it started in my first trimester of pregnancy + did not improve until several weeks into postpartum. all my brain cells were either being used to sustain a baby in my body, or keep said baby happy + healthy — reading was just not happening.

but i did somehow manage to read a few good books:

tj newman does it again! for the third year in a row, her novel is at the top of my list. she has such a gift for writing a thriller of a book + i will read everything she writes.

what a wild ride! when i tell you i audibly gasped at the last page — i was shooketh in the best way. what a thrilling book!

in a world where smut is celebrated, courtney walsh has proven that clean, cute novels exist!

never did i think i’d love a book about fantasy characters drinking coffee, but this book was so cute + cozy. this was a near-perfect read for me! (had it not been for the unnecessary romance part of the story, it would have been my favorite book of the year)
